Arsenal are the favorites to sign Alexander Isak
Arsenal are emerging as the top contenders to sign the Swedish striker by the end of this summer who is in great form this season. Alexander Isak, the Swedish striker is currently playing for Newcastle United has already scored 19 goals and provided 5 assists in the premier league this season. He is third among the top scores list in the league this season. Despite all these transfer rumors, Newcastle’s owner stated that it would be absolutely ridiculous to let Isak go, and they are willing to do everything in their power to make him stay. Newcastle on the other hand are having a wonderful season this year, winning their major trophy in 56 years by winning the EFL cup against Liverpool, who seemed unstoppable this season. Isak’s stats are more than impressive this season making 33 appearances across all competition and scoring 23 goals
Despites having numerous reasons to stay, Mikel Arteta wants to sign Isak as he is more adaptive to his style of play. Arsenal are desperately in need to sign a striker as they lack in their final third, it is highly likely that this transfer news isn’t just a rumor. The Gunners are currently facing major injury problems, it is evident that their transfer will be on lethal striker and Isak is the perfect match. Meanwhile Liverpool on the other hand also chasing this deal to snatch Isak have bigger problems. Liverpool will have to let go Mohamed Salah or Darwin Nunez this summer to afford Isak as it expected that deal would cost around 150 million to sign the striker. It is highly likely that Liverpool would back from this deal whereas the Gunners have higher hopes.
Why Arsenal need Alexander Isak
Arsenal’s interest with Isak is not surprising. His style of play perfectly aligns with Arteta’s tactics . He always wanted a striker who can hold the ball, create chances and score accordingly. Isak’s playing style ticks all these boxes, making him the perfect candidate for the Spanish manager. Isak leading the attack alongside Saka, having Ødegaard and Declan rice in the middle, the squad would look absolutely unstoppable. Signing him also enhances their performance in the champions league and have a long term benefit in the premier league.
Another major reason for Arsenal to sign a striker is to cover their weakness. Apart from Saka, their forwards have failed to deliver a consistent performance this season. With Gabriel Jesus sidelined due to injury, he is expected only to return next season. The gunners are desperate to get a striker this summer to strengthen their attacking third.

Amidst all these transfer bids, its highly likely that Alexander Isak stays at Newcastle for the upcoming season. Newcastle also have high hopes to finish top 4 in the table. They going strong and confident defeating Liverpool in the EFL cup final. It is also expected that Newcastle will be giving him a new contract. They would even double his wages to make him stay and bring glory to his team. Given Isak’s importance to the team, the ultimate decision rests with the player himself.
