Romano gives his opinion on where Chelsea misfit will be after this summer

Fabrizio Romano’s latest Youtube video is out, and it’s heavily Chelsea themed. As well as having a long discussion about Jadon Sancho and his future, the Italian transfer insider has returned with more rumour and speculation about Christopher Nkunku.

“I was here in January telling you ‘keep an eye on Nkunku.’ If they received a permanent transfer proposal he could leave Chelsea. They didn’t. They did receive a loan proposal, but for Chelsea that was never on the cards, and for the player too,” Romano reported.

“Now again, Chelsea are fully focused on the present, on Champions League football for next season – but my understanding in the case of Christopher Nkunku is that there is still a chance for the player to leave Chelsea in the summer, to try something different and play on a regular basis elsewhere,” the insider continued.

“That’s a possibility, there was strong interest from Bayern in January, strong interest. And interest from Manchester United. So let’s see what happens. But my feeling is that there is a chance for Nkunku to leave Chelsea in the summer and try a different experience, in case of there being a good proposal on the table.”

It’s not often Romano gives his opinion, so it’s interesting to hear him voice it hear. He doesn’t sound at all confident that the former Leipzig man will be at Stamford Bridge Everything points to a rapid exit for the Frenchman.

Certainly his recent performances have been those of a player not really interested in proving himself, and give the impression he’s already accepted he will be on his way before too long.
