One West Ham United player has made it very clear that he is keen to link up with his former club.
Graham Potter will be under no illusions at the size of the task that awaits him at the London Stadium this summer.
West Ham wasted an incredible amount of money on numerous poor signings last summer, and now Potter has to clean up the mess left behind by Julen Lopetegui, Tim Steidten and even David Moyes to a certain extent.
It’c clearly not a happy camp at West Ham right now, with numerous dissenting voices coming out of the woodwork.

Potter has to get his recruitment absolutely spot on during the off-season.
However, getting rid of the underperforming players, and there are many of them, will be just as crucial.
Carlos Soler is finished at West Ham
Spanish midfielder Carlos Soler joined the Hammers on a loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024.
However, he has proven to be a terrible signing for West Ham.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
There have been hugely contradictory claims regarding the 28-year-old’s future at the London Stadium.
One report suggested that Carlos Soler will definitely leave West Ham in the summer.
Meanwhile, another claim stated that West Ham are actually very likely to sign Soler in the summer.
However, things have clearly changed since then.

He obviously isn’t a key part of Potter’s plans anymore, and a return to his former club could be on the cards before the start of next season.
Carlos Soler openly admits he wants to rejoin his former club
Soler spoke to Super Deporte about his future, and suggested that he’d like to return to Valencia:
“Of course I would like to play there (Valencia),” he said.
“I have already seen that the works have resumed, hopefully the deadlines they give for the stadium will be met.
“We have a very good relationship,” he said when talking about Jose Gaya.
“He loves the club, he’s shown it, he’s stayed despite having offers. He’s been here a long time and of course he’s suffering from the situation.
“Now the team is a bit better than it was a few weeks ago. We’ve exchanged messages, he doesn’t use his phone much, but I talk to him, to Jaume… I have a relationship with the players; whenever there’s a game, I watch it, whenever Valencia plays, I watch it on TV. I hope it goes well. They’re in a better dynamic, especially at Mestalla.”
He couldn’t have made it any clearer than that could he!
Whether he ends up at Valencia or not remains to be seen, but we can be almost certain that he won’t be a West Ham player next season.
Graham Potter raved about Soler after his goal during our 3-2 win over Fulham back in January, describing the midfielder as ‘brilliant’ (WHUFC.com).
However, aside from that performance, he has been really poor on the whole for the Hammers.
Carlos Soler quite obviously won’t be at West Ham beyond the end of this season, and he’ll go down as one of our worst signings in recent times.
