Move over Andre: United should now sign 22yo star turning heads in Belgium,£30m deal could be agreed

Manchester United could have a busy summer transfer window with plenty of changes.

A marquee striker could be one of the top priorities for the manager, but the club could also bolster other positions ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

A new goalkeeper may be signed amid claims that United won’t stand in the way of Andre Onana if he decides to move to the Saudi Pro League.

In our view, the hierarchy should replace him with Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The 22-year-old has made just 49 appearances for Antwerp in his career, but he has already established himself as a talented shot-stopper in Belgium.

Lammens is a strong ball-playing goalkeeper, and he has completed 24 passes per league appearance this term with almost seven successful long balls.

He has also caught the eye with his ball recoveries and exceptional reflexes in goal. He has made 4.5 saves per game with an 80 percent success rate.

Lammens does not have a huge reputation for himself but would be an upgrade on Onana, who has been very inconsistent during his time at United.

In our view, the club should cut their losses on the Cameroonian star.

Onana was purchased for £47 million from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023. The Red Devils could secure most of the fee if he moves to Saudi Arabia.

The club could use the funds recouped to purchase Lammens. Antwerp are willing to part ways with the Belgian for £30m during the next transfer window.

Manchester City are also interested in the Club Brugge graduate, and United must be proactive in securing his signature ahead of their arch-rivals.
