Man Utd can finally sign 26-goal striker as PSG exit race, £63m deal could be agreed

Manchester United could invest in a marquee centre-forward when the transfer window reopens this summer.

The Red Devils have misfired in front of goal this term. They have netted only 37 times in 29 Premier League games.

United manager Ruben Amorim may want an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee before next season.

The club have now been handed a potential boost with Paris Saint-Germain distancing themselves from Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has had a fantastic season on loan with Galatasaray. He has scored 26 goals and provided four assists thus far.

The Nigerian ace will return to Napoli this summer. The Serie A outfit are ready to offload him for his €75 million (£63m) release clause.

United have now received a boost with Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique not convinced over a move for the 26-year-old.

It was anticipated that PSG could reunite Osimhen with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who swapped Naples for Paris in the last transfer window.

However, that is unlikely on the cards, with Enrique not keen on signing the former Lille man.

United handed a big opportunity to land Osimhen

Osimhen has had a long dream of playing in the Premier League, as per journalist Vincenzo Credendino.

Chelsea were heavily interested in signing the striker last summer but could not convince him to accept a significant pay-cut on his £207,000 per week salary.

United have now been credited with an interest in Osimhen and should have no problem matching the striker’s weekly demands to bring him to Old Trafford.

Osimhen is a clear upgrade on Hojlund and Zirkzee. The Nigerian star has a shot-to-goal conversion rate of 21 percent. He has scored with every fifth shot on goal.

He has also won more than five duels per outing. He is more of a traditional striker, but his positional sense in the box would make him a perfect fit for United.

The 26-year-old is in the prime of his career, and a £63m outlay seems more than reasonable.

United are strong contenders to bring Osimhen to England and could be favourites if they qualify for the Champions League by lifting the Europa League title.

The club are unlikely to trigger his buy-out clause and may instead negotiate a long-term payment plan with Napoli, who are expected to sanction his transfer.

Osimhen’s contract expires in the summer of 2026, and Napoli must sell him during the summer transfer window or risk losing him on a free transfer next year.
