Barca come up with new plan for Torre after tough season under Flick

Barcelona have reportedly come up with a fresh plan for midfielder Pablo Torre who is struggling for game time under Hansi Flick this season.

Torre has impressed when he has played but has managed just 280 first-team minutes so far this campaign and it’s hard to see that changing too much.

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona still have complete faith in Torre and want to extend his contract for at least another year.

The plan is to send Torre out on loan next season so that he can get some football under his belt and show Hansi Flick and Co. what he can do.

Torre was in demand in January, with Real Betis, Celta and Valencia all keen on taking him on loan, and more offers are likely to arrive in the summer.

The only problem may be whether Torre is willing to go out on loan again. He did spend time at Girona previously but it’s not clear what he thinks about another temporary move.

Barcelona believe he is in favour of staying on “as long as there is a clear sporting plan” but if doesn’t agree a loan move then he may be sold.

Torre’s current contract expires in 2026 and Barca don’t want any players starting next season with only a year left on their existing deals.
