In a 121-105 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, Sacramento Kings sharpshooter Keegan Murray made franchise history. He joined an exclusive list, becoming just the second player wearing a Kings uniform to record multiple games with nine-plus 3s.
Murray, the No. 4 overall pick in 2022, hit 12 3-pointers in a Dec. 16, 2023, game against the Utah Jazz. The Kings won that contest 125-104.
The only other player to achieve this milestone is Buddy Hield, who played with Sacramento for six seasons from 2017-22. Known for his exceptional 3-point shooting, Hield was a key offensive weapon in Sacramento and set the stage for long-range specialists like Murray to leave their stamp on Kings history.

While Murray's achievement is impressive, the Kings' current form leaves much to be desired. Murray and the Kings currently sit ninth in the Western Conference with a record of 35-37 and are just 2-8 in their last 10 games.
Fans took to social media to voice their frustrations, as Murray's historic performance came in the midst of a disappointing season.
"All that but still can't win," one fan commented. Another added, "To what gain exactly, playing like they don't care."
Some responses injected humor into the situation, with one user joking, "Gon need bout 9 mo." Another chimed in, "And you still lost. 4 losses in a row, 2-8 in the last 10. There goes any hopes for the playoffs."
One fan, clearly frustrated, wrote "Wow 9 threes that don't make an impact! Keegan is absolutely useless."
The Kings' next matchup is Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers (32-41) at Golden 1 Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET.
