Kevin Durant Sends Clear Celtics Message After Trade Report

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has been linked to the Boston Celtics many times throughout his NBA career. Most notably, the Celtics pursued him during his free agency in 2016 before he joined the Golden State Warriors. The Celtics were also rumored to have interest in trading for him from the Brooklyn Nets in 2022.

While Durant to Boston has not come to fruition, it may not seem like an impossibility. According to FS1's Nick Wright, two sources have told him to keep an eye on Boston as a potential landing spot for Durant, who will more than likely be on his way out of the Phoenix Suns' organization after this season.

"Two totally unrelated people, both of whom have reputations for knowing things that other people don't know, have said to me watch out for Durant in Boston"

On Wednesday night, Durant and the Suns will take on the Celtics for the first time this season. Before the game, the two-time champion sent a clear message about the reigning champions.

"They're champs for a reason," Durant said. "They've got a deep team... They keep it rolling, they got a system they stand on. On both ends of the floor. They just plug and play guys."

Despite being in the midst of a disappointing season, the Suns may be starting to turn things around. They have won each of their last four games and are now the No. 10 seed in the West. Phoenix will have a tough challenge ahead of them as they take on the Celtics on Wednesday.

Most consider the Celtics a top-heavy team, but they have a lot of depth and a plethora of role players who contribute on a nightly basis. The Celtics, who are on a six-game winning streak of their own, will look to prove Durant right when they go up against his Suns on Wednesday night.
