CORAL GABLES, Fla - Two days after Cam Ward put on a show for the National Football League at the University of Miami Pro Day, the Cleveland Browns staff came to Coral Gables to see what they missed.
The question is why?
Ward put on a clinic Monday afternoon and showcased the skills of his teammates. Browns owner, Jimmy Haslam, general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski were not present.
It was presumed they were not there due to the fact they know the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 1 pick, are going to select Ward at the top of the draft.
However, the fact they came down later, with Haslam, has people scratching their heads thinking there might be a trade offer in the works for the Browns to trade up one spot to take the generational signal-caller.
The story was first reported by Hurricanes local media outlet CanesInSight.com.
What if there is a trade in the works for the Browns to move up for the top pick? It appeared as though the Titans coaching staff was very chummy with Ward on Monday and they would have clearly been putting on a good face if they had the intention to trade the pick.

The Browns brass also met with former University of Miami tight end David Njoku, who is entering into his final season of a four-year contract with the Browns.
While it is apparently possible they also came in town to meet with Njoku and his representatives about a contract extension, it does not make sense the owner would be involved with the talks and they would leave the confines of their Berea, Ohio offices for something which could be done over the phone.
Njoku is entering his ninth year in the league and was a first-round draft choice of the Browns in 2017.
