WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump signed a proclamation imposing a 25% tariff on foreign-made cars and light trucks on Wednesday, in a move that the White House says will result in over $100 billion of new annual revenues.

The tariffs will be charged in addition to ones that are already in place. The U.S. currently levies 2.5% on passenger vehicles and 25% on pickup trucks.
