Liverpool-linked Dean Huijsen has spoken glowingly about Mohamed Salah and Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
All three players could be playing together at Anfield next season if Liverpool’s plans go through.
Liverpool are genuinely interested in signing Huijsen from Bournemouth.
The Reds’ interest in the Spainish international was recently confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming, who revealed that Arne Slot’s side have “already made some contacts to understand how his release clause works”.
Huijsen, who only joined Bournemouth last season, has a €50m release on his contract and Liverpool are said to be open to discussing a move to Anfield this summer for the young defender.
Meanwhile, although Salah admitted in January that he is closer to leaving than staying at Liverpool, the feeling among the majority of the fanbase is that the Egyptian will extend his stay at the club.
Salah’s current deal expires at the end of this season, but the Reds are currently locked in contract negotiations with him. The Liverpool hierarchy are confident that they will be able to tie the 32-year-old down to a new deal, given his willingness to stay at the club beyond this summer.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are also interested in signing Isak this summer. The Reds see the Swede as the perfect fit for the No. 9 position, which could become vacant in the summer as both Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are likely to be put up for sale.
As a result of Liverpool’s interests, they could be a possiblity that Salah, Isak and Huijsen are teammates next season.
Should that be the case, Huijsen will become teammates with two players he named among his most challenging opponents.
Asked to name the strikers that put him to the test, the Spain star named Erling Haaland, Isak and Salah.
“Well, I think Haaland is a striker you always have to watch out for,” he responded when asked about his toughest opponents, before highlighting why Salah and Isak are also make up the top three toughest he has faced.
“Salah, because he is always in the right place. He is always where he needs to be to score or assist. He is just always in the right spot.”
About Isak, Huijsen said, “Isak, because I think he is a very complete striker. Tall, fast and strong. He can dribble, shoot and pass. I think he is a very complete striker.”
Huijsen’s assessment of Salah and Isak is something Slot and Liverpool fans are familiar with, hence their desire to keep the Egyptian and sign the Swedish forward.
There is no doubt that an attack comprising Salah and Isak will be really difficult for opponents, while the signing of the highly-rated Dean Huijsen will potentially sort out Liverpool’s defence for many years.
