LeBron James was the hero of the day for the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night after the four-time NBA champion tipped it in at the buzzer to lead his team to a razor-thin 120-119 win over the Indiana Pacers.
The truth of the matter, though, is that James actually struggled in this one, going 4-of-12 from the floor. In fact, had it not been for his 10-point surge in the fourth quarter, James would have seen his all-time streak for the most 10+ point games broken.
It was Doncic who carried the Lakers in the first three quarters of play, and he ended up scoring a game-high 34 points on 11-of-21 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds, seven assists and six triples in 38 minutes of action.
To say that Doncic has been on a scoring surge would be an understatement at this point. A testament to this fact is how his offensive onslaught on Wednesday night marked his fourth straight 30-point outing for L.A.
As reported by ClutchPoints, Doncic is the first Lakers player to achieve this feat since James did it in 2022.

More importantly, though, thanks to Doncic's strong play, the Lakers were able to snap their three-game losing streak on Wednesday.
This recent skid includes an embarrassing 31-point loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, which the Lakers will now get a chance to make amends for. Doncic and Co. travel to Chicago for a matchup against the Bulls on Thursday -- the second night of a back-to-back set -- and surely, they will have the bad taste of Saturday's blowout in their mouths.
L.A. is now fourth in the Western Conference with a 44-28 record.
