CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Flag football isn’t a sanctioned sport in Ohio, but the Cleveland Browns are on the forefront of trying to change that.
The Browns hosted 850 high school girls flag football players from 46 area schools for their second-annual, ‘A New Era Summit.’
The event featured a panel discussion with 2024 Women’s National Flag Athlete, Izzy Geraci, NFL, VP and Head of Flag Football, Stephanie Kwok and Senior Advisor/Consultant to the NFL, Mike Daniels. The panel was moderated by CBS sports reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala.
In addition to the panel, the young athletes also attended breakout sessions where they could hear from members of the Browns and NFL about potential career opportunities in football.
