Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic had a big game against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, dropping a game-high 34 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists.
Making his performance even better, Doncic became the first Lakers player to have four straight 30-point games since LeBron James did it in 2022. The Slovenian star shot 11-for-21 from the field, including 6-of-10 from deep, in a highly efficient night.
However, it was far from a perfect display from Doncic. After all, he almost cost the Lakers the game after fouling Tyrese Haliburton with just 42.2 seconds remaining, allowing the Pacers to take the lead at that point.
Doncic also missed the potential game-winning floater. Had it not been for James' buzzer-beating tip-in, the Lakers would have suffered their fourth straight loss.
In his postgame presser, Doncic admitted that he still has "a lot of work to do" when it comes to improving his play alongside James and Austin Reaves.
"I gotta watch film and adapt to the situation," Doncic explained, noting that it will also take some time before he fully learns how to best operate alongside his two star teammates, per Luka Updates.

While Luka Doncic had a scoring explosion, LeBron James wasn't able to really find his rhythm offensively. Sure, James delivered when it mattered most, but he was limited to just 12 attempts and made just four of his shots.
As Doncic himself said, there's still a lot of things for him and James to work out in order for them to be effective partners on the court.
The good news is Doncic, James and the rest of the Lakers have 10 games left on the season to figure things out. They are also well-positioned to make the playoffs, improving to 44-28 for a top-four seed in the West.
