Newcastle United have been linked with a summer swoop for Liverpool defender Jarrell Quansah.
Eddie Howe and Newcastle United know they'll quickly have to put this weekend's Carabao Cup parade celebrations behind them ahead of the final ten games of the Premier League season.
The Magpies secured a return to European football via the Conference League, but will be hoping they can improve on that and nail down a spot in the Champions League.
A return to Europe's elite competition would be a major boost in terms of Financial Fair Play and be an enticing proposition for potential transfer targets this summer.
With that in mind, Chronicle Live has take a look at the latest transfer news and gossip in the media at the moment.
Newcastle plot summer swoop for Liverpool defender
A report from the Times claims Newcastle will make a move for Liverpool defender Jarrell Quansah this summer.
It claims the Magpies are hopeful that a bid in the region of £30million will be enough to tempt the England international to St. James' Park, with the promise of guaranteed game time.
The 22-year-old has four years left on his Liverpool contract but hasn't been a regular starter for the Reds.
Newcastle reportedly enquired about Quansah last summer when the Reds made an approach for Anthony Gordon, and although a deal could not be done, the interest remained.
ChronicleLive says: "It's no secret that Newcastle want to bring in a right-sided centre-half but securing Champions League football would be key in any pursuit of the Reds defender. Howe's proven track record in nurturing young talents into internationals would be an enticing proposition for Quansah, given Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall and Anthony Gordon's rise to prominence in the England set-up. One to watch."
Magpies have 'two weeks' to take advantage of transfer clause
Reports in Italy claim Newcastle United will have a two week window to take advantage of a clause in Moise Kean's contract clause at Fiorentina.
Calciomercato, claims the Italian international has a €52million (£43.4m) release clause that is active from July 1, through to July 15.
The Magpies are one of a number of Premier League clubs linked with a move for the former Everton striker, who has shone in Italy this season.
Italian reports claim the Toon see Kean as a replacement for Isak, amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the Swede's future.
ChronicleLive says: "Links with Moise Kean are of course, not new, but the two week period of his release clause makes for interesting reading. Newcastle will have to move quickly if they are interested in the forward, but as is always the case with foreign reports, take them with a pinch of salt.
"The reported interest focuses on Kean being a replacement for Isak who- as ChronicleLive has repeatedly reported - is not for sale this summer. That would, in theory, make the story a non-starter, but Newcastle are keen on bolstering their forward line this this summer with a number of players linked to the club. Another one to keep an eye on but you'd expect their priorities to lie elsewhere."
