New reports claim on what terms Trent Alexander-Arnold decided to join Real Madrid

Reports suggest that Trent Alexander-Arnold could have decided to join Real Madrid on one condition in the summer.

Real Madrid are close to finalizing a deal to bring Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu on a free transfer this summer.

The Reds’ full-back has been a target of the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners and there is now concrete expectation of the defender joining the team from the Spanish capital at the expiration of his contract.

Although the move has not been completed, multiple sources have revealed the terms of the offer from the Spanish giants in their bid to bring the England international to the club and make him one of their ‘Galacticos’.

The terms on which Trent Alexander-Arnold could have made the decision

According to reports, Real Madrid have offered a five-year deal for the right back, which will create the path to ending his long-term stay with his childhood club. The 26-year-old has been hugely influential in Liverpool’s recent successes and has been solid this term too.

As per Fabrizio Romano, “Real Madrid were VERY clear with Trent Alexander-Arnold since day 1: ‘If you want to join, it has to be on OUR terms, or else, extend with Liverpool or do whatever you want’.”

Liverpool turned down a bid from the defending champions of Europe in the winter, as Liverpool had no interest in letting go of the defender halfway through the current campaign.

However, they have been unable to agree on a new contract with the player, and he has been allowed to engage in talks with clubs outside England concerning a pre-contract agreement since the start of the year.

It has also been reported that Alexander-Arnold has been cut in between the middle over the decision to remain at Anfield or seize the opportunity to move to join Carlo Ancelotti’s men. A move to Real Madrid also provided a chance to join up with England teammate and friend, Jude Bellingham.
