Liverpool are in search of Trent’s heir! Frimpong, Livramento, or Bradley—who will take over the right-back throne at Anfield?
Liverpool face the potential departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this summer. And the club is already looking at potential right-back replacements.
The vice-captain has been with Liverpool since he was six years old. But now he is out of contract at the end of the season. And his unique skill set as a right-back will leave a sizable gap in the team.
With the club already facing decisions on other out-of-contract players, such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s options to replace Alexander-Arnold are under scrutiny.

Frimpong or Tino? Liverpool in dilemma
As per the Independent, one of the standout names linked to Liverpool is Jeremie Frimpong. The 24-year-old right-back is currently excelling at Bayer Leverkusen.
Frimpong has been a key figure for the Bundesliga side, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists last season while playing as a wing-back.
His attacking contribution has placed him among Europe’s elite right-backs. And his numbers, particularly in expected goals and assists, make him an exciting prospect for Liverpool. However, there are questions about how he would fit into manager Arne Slot’s system.

Leverkusen’s tactical setup allows Frimpong to play as a right-winger, while Slot prefers a back four at Liverpool. Despite these doubts, Frimpong’s quality on both ends of the pitch makes him a potential target for the Reds.
Another option considered by Liverpool is Tino Livramento, who impressed during his time at Southampton before moving to Newcastle. The 22-year-old is known for his solid defending and ability to support the attack with precise crossing and passing.
His performance against Mohamed Salah in the Carabao Cup final further highlighted his ability to deal with top-tier opposition. While Livramento is versatile and could play on both sides, Newcastle would be reluctant to sell, making him an “untouchable” option for the time being.
As Liverpool weigh their options for a potential new right-back, the promising Conor Bradley could emerge as the club’s answer to the challenge.
The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international has already demonstrated his potential during brief stints in the first team, particularly when Trent has been sidelined.
Known for his exceptional work rate and strong defensive abilities, Bradley has impressed fans and coaches alike, with his memorable challenge on Kylian Mbappé earlier this season cementing his place in Liverpool lore.
Although Bradley is still in the early stages of his professional career, he has the qualities needed to step up as Liverpool’s first-choice right-back if Alexander-Arnold leaves.
His impressive fitness and tenacity, developed from his background as a cross-country champion, give him a solid foundation to adapt to the high demands of the Premier League.
It may be a gamble to promote Bradley to such a critical role for the upcoming season. But his potential, combined with his affordable status, makes him a fine option to consider for the future of Liverpool’s defense.
