Newcastle United will celebrate their Carabao Cup win on Saturday – with our without Sam Fender.
Eddie Howe’s staff and players are set to be paraded through the streets of the city before Newcastle’s Carabao Cup celebration culminates on the Town Moor.
There could be over 100,000 Newcastle United fans in attendance, as supporters prepare to celebrate with the team that ended the Magpies’ trophy drought.
But what can the fans who attend the Town Moor event expect to see? There will be live music and special guests, but it is unclear who they will be.

‘Rumours’ Sam Fender could be at Newcastle’s Carabao Cup celebration event
It had been reported that Sam Fender would not be performing at the event, but the prospect of the North Shields star turning up has not been ruled out.
That is according to the Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, who has now stated on X (formally known as Twitter) that there are ‘rumours’ that Fender could appear after all.
Edwards wrote on X: “Could Sam Fender pass a late fitness test and make a surprise appearance on Saturday? There are rumours… I should stress it’s only a rumour. He decided against it last week but had initially been keen. Rumours are dangerous and his presence continues to be denied by those organising the event. Maybe he’ll parachute in with a Newcastle flag tied around his waist playing the guitar…”

As Edwards writes, it is only a rumour, while the possibility of him appearing has been played down by the organisers.
It remains a case of ‘wait and see’, as Newcastle United fans get set to celebrate their Carabao Cup triumph.
Whether Fender turns up or not, it will be an incredible spectacle to toast the Magpies’ Wembley victory. The true stars are the players and coaches.
Newcastle United set for parade before arriving at the Town Moor
The centrepiece of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup celebration is the event on the Town Moor, but before that there will be a traditional open-top bus parade through the city.
That is set to take place between 4pm and 6pm. It will start at St James’ Park and end at the Town Moor.
It should prove to be an incredible day for Newcastle United. While being knocked out of the FA Cup was a real blow, it has created an opportunity for the club to celebrate their accomplishment as soon as possible.
Had Newcastle still been in the FA Cup, they would be in action this weekend.
Instead, the Toon squad will be celebrating winning the Carabao Cup – their first domestic trophy since 1955.
