Everton are set for a major rebuild in the summer transfer window.

The Friedkin Group are set to back David Moyes in the market to transform his squad and build on the form that has seen the Blues go on a nine-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

However, one star man may not be on their books next season, which for be a major blow as the Toffees make the move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

Jarrad Branthwaite could leave Everton after England snub

Jarrad Branthwaite was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad and that has reportedly led to the 22-year-old considering his future.

However, Simon Jordan has reacted to the news and claims that if the former Carlisle star leaves, it will not be a result of the national team snub.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

In a column in the Daily Mail’s print edition (page 71, 27 March), the former Crystal Palace owner said: “Don’t be fooled by the timing. Any itchy feet won’t be due to the 22-year-old defender considering his World Cup prospects, more because Everton have achieved nothing during his time there.

“Marc Guehi showed at the Euros you don’t need Champions League experience to do well for England, even if it helps.

“Rather than looking down on Everton, Tuchel may well just think, like me, that Branthwaite is all right but that it’s too early to rave about him being the best centre-half in the country.”

Everton remain in control of Branthwaite future

Everton are in control of Branthwaite’s future as he has two years left on his contract, which runs until 2027.

That is plenty of time for him to make his mark on Tuchel, and he arguably stands more of a chance of doing so, if he can help the Blues drive up the Premier League table as a key member of the squad.

Stats (Premier League) Branthwaite

Matches 22

Pass accuracy 82.4%

Tackles won 17 (54.8%)

Duels won 78 (62.9%)

Aerial duels won 35 (53%)

Branthwaite’s league stats this season.

Branthwaite is expected to be the subject of significant interest in the transfer window from the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United, Real Madrid and even city rivals Liverpool.

However, the Toffees are in a position where they can keep his services and offer him a new contract or command a significant fee and use the finances for a significant rebuild that is necessary for Moyes to take the side towards European qualification.

Branthwaite would be a huge loss for Moyes if he does decide to depart Merseyside but the funds raised would allow the Blues to invest significantly more than they could if he stays.

One thing is for sure, a decision needs to be made in the near future so that all parties know where they stand in the matter.
