There will be plenty of incomings and outgoings at Liverpool this summer.
The week before the international break has highlighted that Arne Slot needs to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign with the Reds set to target a left-back, a centre-back, a midfielder and a striker.
As for outgoings, Liverpool will want to keep hold of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah as the duo are yet to pen new deals at Anfield and new contracts for both will impact how the Premier League leaders spend this summer.
Liverpool look set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold, while there are several other stars that Slot doesn’t trust according to Jamie Carragher, that could be heading towards the exit door.
Liverpool’s main target looks to be Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and with the Swedish star being a popular target for many clubs ahead of the summer, the Merseyside outfit may have been handed an advantage.

Newcastle interested in Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah
Jarell Quansah seemed on course to be a top prospect at Liverpool while Jurgen Klopp was at the club and having trusted the youngster a lot during pre-season, Slot has not used the defender as much as people would have thought this season.
It was reported in January that Slot believed Quansah was going backwards at Liverpool, which was the main reason for his lack of minutes, however, the centre-back has been used more often since.

Jarell Quansah’s 24/25 stats
It remains to be seen if the England international remains at Anfield this summer, as The Times have reported that Quansah is a potential target for Newcastle, who believe that a bid of £30m plus add-ons could be enough to tempt Liverpool to sell the 22-year-old.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Having come through their issues with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules in recent transfer windows, Newcastle are planning to spend big ahead of next season with a right-footed centre-back on the agenda for manager Eddie Howe.
Quansah is believed to be liked by the Newcastle board and Liverpool could now use this to their advantage to bring Isak the other way.
Liverpool handed an advantage in the Alexander Isak race
The race for Isak ahead of the 2024/25 campaign looks set to be a tough one for Liverpool, not only because Newcastle do not want to let the striker go and have placed a huge price tag on the Swedish star, but because there are other top clubs, such as Arsenal, involved.
Liverpool have alternative striker options, however, Isak is the one they want and they should use Quansah to lure the 25-year-old to Anfield.
The 22-year-old could be used to bring Isak’s price down, or a cash plus player deal could be offered to Newcastle.
Should Liverpool receive £62.5m for Darwin Nunez this summer, in addition to using Quansah’s price tag, a deal for Isak may not be as expensive as people think for the Reds.
Newcastle’s interest in Quansah has handed Liverpool an advantage in the race, but it is now up to the Merseyside club on how they use it.
