While sending texts consisting of two same emoji, individuals can get a Screen Effects response that takes up the entire display.
People using Google Messages for a long time must have triggered one of the app’s Screen Effects – the full-screen animations that appear while entering specific phrases into the chat. The feature was first introduced by Google with 15+ animations. The only way to activate these appeared to be by typing in one of those associated trigger phrases. However, Google has now expanded that so as to include certain emoji.

Android Authority found that while sending texts consisting of two same emoji, individuals can get a Screen Effects response that takes up the entire display. The animations also seem to work when accompanied by some text.

It is unclear when Google first started making this functionality available. Google does not even seem to have talked about it in any official Messages announcements either. This means that more is left to be discovered, so when you engage in an RCS chat on Messages, you can try using some double emoji in your messages to see what Screen Effects you can activate.
What is an RCS chat?
Rich Communication Services (RCS) chats provide users an upgraded messaging experience, for example, they can see when someone is typing, and can send messages over mobile data and Wi-Fi. They can also read receipts and share files and high-resolution photos.
According to Google, “When you use RCS chats, your messages are sent with the Rich Communication Services (RCS) protocol over Wi-Fi and mobile data. RCS chats will be turned on only when all the participants in a conversation have RCS. RCS chats are provided by Google or your mobile carrier.”
Rich Communication Services are available on Android devices, and well as other devices where RCS is turned on in settings. Google says, “When you use RCS chats, your messages are sent over Wi-Fi and mobile data. As long as you're connected to a Wi-Fi network that you don't have to pay to use, there’s no additional cost to send and receive messages. If your messages are sent using mobile data, the cost is based on your mobile data plan.”
