Leeds United are yet to hold talks with AFC Bournemouth loanee Joe Rothwell over a permanent move, he has said.
Leeds United landed the midfielder on a temporary basis last summer. He is currently looking to help LUFC get promoted to the Premier League.

Rothwell, 30, is due to return to his parent club at the end of this season. He has made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Whites in this campaign and has chipped in with four assists.
When asked whether he has held discussions regarding a full-time switch to Elland Road, he has said, as per a report by LeedsLive: “I haven’t. I’ve not looked into it or pushed through [with] it. The full focus is getting the club back up.”
He added: “I’ve been a bit disappointed in myself with the numbers that I’ve produced, not just in goals but in terms of assists as well. So it’s something that by the end of the season that I would like to add to, especially trying to get in with a few goals.”
Leeds United landed Rothwell last year to boost their midfield ranks.
He was given the green light to leave AFC Bournemouth on a temporary basis to get some game time.

Rothwell spent four years at Blackburn Rovers from 2018 to 2022 and was a hit during his days at Ewood Park, having previously been at Manchester United and Oxford United.
He went on to play 161 games for the Lancashire outfit and fired 11 goals to land a move to AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.
However, he hasn’t managed to become a regular in the Cherries’ starting XI.

Rothwell was sent to Southampton on loan just over 12 months ago and helped the Saints win promotion last term.
His contract at AFC Bournemouth expires in June 2026 and they have a big decision to make regarding his long-term future when he returns from West Yorkshire.
Will Leeds United sign Joe Rothwell permanently?
Time will tell whether Leeds United end up getting Rothwell full-time. He gives them more depth in the middle of the park.
Daniel Farke’s side are sat top of the table as they look to get over the line and back into the top flight.
