The Milwaukee Bucks were one of the most exciting teams in the NBA during former Ohio State star Michael Redd's heyday with the team.
Redd, a sharp-shooting left-handed shooting guard, averaged a career-best 26.7 points per game in 2006-2007, cementing his standing as one of the NBA's best players at any position.
Recently, Redd shared a video to his X account looking back on his golden years with Milwaukee, along with his decision to stay with the Bucks franchise rather than jump ship to play with LeBron James in Cleveland, calling it a "Trade Machine-like moment that few people remember."
"So there was rumblings about me potentially getting traded to Cleveland. I had a chance as a free agent a couple of years prior. But the mentality was where I'd rather," Redd started off saying.
"I wanna be the man," Redd's interviewer said.
"Than join LeBron like...I got an opportunity to have my own franchise," Redd added. "So that was the mentality."
Redd said that he later expected to be traded to Cleveland to play with James and that a "crazy" scenario unfolded that included billboards of him in Cleveland prior to the Cavaliers' acquisition of fellow high-scoring teammate Maurice Williams instead.
Now an Ohio resident, Redd said people still chat with him about the time he almost became a Cavalier, and wish that it had happened.
That time I almost got traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers to team up with LeBron James in his prime. A Trade Machine-like NBA moment that few people remember...
