Premier League U-turn lands them in trouble as Everton and David Moyes aren’t the only ones…

Everton have a huge April ahead of them with their unbeaten run of nine Premier League games coming under threat.

David Moyes has done an incredible job to turn around the mess on Merseyside left behind by Sean Dyche.

However, the real test is going to come over the next few weeks when Everton return from the international break.

Everton are likely to be without their starting left-back following the break, with Vitaliy Mykolenko suffering an injury whilst playing for Ukraine.

There is no game this weekend, but the Blues have two outings next week in what is going to be a congested few days for Moyes and his men.

And the Premier League are now receiving considerable backlash for their planning of Everton’s next two games.

Premier League slammed over Everton’s fixture schedule

Everton fans are furious over their fixture scheduling with their game against Arsenal taking place just hours before the Grand National.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

It appears to be a real disaster of a decision from the Premier League who also have Everton playing just hours after the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday night.

And it appears the frustrations are also shared in the horse racing community with their feelings expressed by the Daily Mail.

The report claims officials at Aintree have been left frustrated with the Premier League’s decision to outmuscle them with an early kick-off on Merseyside.

It is even believed there was a hope the Merseyside Derby would be played on Tuesday, with the Grand National meeting starting on Thursday.

However, the Premier League have rubbed salt in the wound for both the Aintree officials and Moyes.

In recent weeks, Moyes has demanded more from his Everton players with their performances having dipped of late.

Playing two games in the space of just over 48 hours will certainly not help the cause and the 61-year-old would have welcomed a Sunday tie against Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp would’ve backed Everton’s frustrations

Had this of happened to Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, the German would certainly not have hidden his frustrations.

Everton rattled Klopp after Merseyside Derby victory in his final game against the Toffees last year.

However, the German was a strong believer that playing on Wednesdays in the Champions League and then in Saturday’s early slot was hugely wrong.

“That they dared to give us Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday 12:30pm is a crime,” said Klopp last year.

“I was actually waiting for Amnesty International to go to them!”

Everton have a seriously difficult run of games coming up and playing Arsenal on Sunday would have been a big boost for the Blues, but it would have clashed with the Gunners’ Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
