Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White speaks for the first time since England snub

Morgan Gibbs-White is back at Nottingham Forest after spending two weeks training with the England national team.

It’s been a rollercoaster time of things for Gibbs-White.

He was originally omitted from the squad altogether before the door swung open when Chelsea star Cole Palmer picked up an injury in training.

Gibbs-White was then left out of the matchday squad for the game against Albania and was then inexplicably left as an unused substitute against Latvia.

The Reds forward is going to have some fire in his belly this weekend as Forest look to beat Brighton to set up a Wembley semi-final in the FA Cup.

Morgan Gibbs-White speaks for first time after England snub

The 25-year-old should get a number of other opportunities to play for England but this will have been disappointing for him.

To see the likes of Jordan Henderson and Kyle Walker come on at 3-0 up against a Latvia team who offered no threat whatsoever, will have been a big kick on the teeth.

Now, Gibbs-White has been spotted for the first time back in the Forest training gear and he had some words for the camera as he headed out to train.

He simply said: “Good to be back.”

Gibbs-White will likely captain Forest at Brighton this weekend as Nuno Espirito Santo ditches the experimental team and goes with his strongest players.

Changes have been made against Luton, Exeter and Ipswich to get this far but now a big decision will need to be made for the trip to the AMEX Stadium.

It’s been a quality season for Gibbs-White so far, although he could probably score more goals still.

His game is more about creating for others, however, and it would appear that he’s got that aspect of his game to a different level this season.

Going into this weekend’s game against Brighton, Gibbs-White has scored five times and claimed seven assists, with more still to come for the player this season.

Gibbs-White is mature way beyond his tender years and it seems very likely that he will handle this England setback in typically defiant fashion.

Espirito Santo trusts him in his team and there is a big chance for the player to now show Thomas Tuchel exactly what he’s missing from his team.
