Ruben Amorim is one player away from unleashing dream Man Utd attack this season

The international break came at the perfect time for Ruben Amorim and the team is well set-up to attack the last part of the season.

Man Utd were showing glimpses of potential under Ruben Amorim in the lead-up to the break but it was coming at the cost of incessant fitness issues.

With this well-timed 16-day break, courtesy of United’s elimination from the FA Cup, the players, even those who traveled for international duty, will get ample rest.

Excitingly, Amorim will finally be able to unleash his dream Man Utd attack this season and the timing is lining up perfectly.

Ruben Amorim’s dream Man Utd attack

What Amorim was managing to do before the international break was even more remarkable because he had been missing a lot of players.

For example, just when Kobbie Mainoo found a new role in the team, he was injured. Amad was becoming the talisman then he picked up an injury and there are more such examples.

It can be argued that Amorim’s ideal attack has been on the pitch together for just 14 minutes since he took charge almost six months ago.

That attack came to life on December 15, 2024, and showed signs that it could develop into something special, before cruel luck struck.

That day was the Manchester Derby, when Amorim fielded his ideal attack. Manuel Ugarte and Bruno Fernandes as the deeper midfielder with Mason Mount and Amad just ahead while Rasmus Hojlund led the line.

Mount came off after 14 minutes and is now set to return for Nottingham Forest, leaving Amorim just one player short of his ideal five.

Amad’s return lining up perfectly

Mount’s return leaves just Amad’s spot open, something that was expected to remain open until the next season but now isn’t so bad.

Amorim sounded positive about Amad’s return before the break and hoped that he could be back if United’s season is alive deep into it.

That only means one thing – if United are able to qualify for the Europa League final, Amorim could field his dream Man Utd attack as the timing of Amad’s return is lining up perfectly.

In the meantime, he will hope that Mount is able to stay on the pitch and put his troubles behind him because he’s facing a crucial six months as well.

If that happens, then United’s season straight from hell could have a heavenly ending.
