This summer is set to be a busy one for Liverpool, with plenty of potential incomings and outgoings at Anfield.
Full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be out of contract at the end of the current season, and it has ben widely reported that the England international has agreed to join Real Madrid when his contract ends.
Fellow strs Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also both in the final months of their respective current deals, meaning the Reds could lose three key players ahead of next term.
With that in mind, it appears that those in charge of the club’s recruitment are already eyeing signings for the upcoming summer window.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes via GiveMeSport, the Merseyside club have made contact about a possible move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah this summer.
The Germany international is also in the final few months of his current contract with the Bundesliga champions, and could therefore be available as a free agent this summer.
Tah is set to leave Leverkusen as a free agent this summer
German giants Bayern Munich and Spanish side Barcelona have both ruled out the possibility of a move for Tah, the report claims, but Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both exploring the idea.
Tah, 29, joined Leverkusen from fellow German side Hamburg in 2015 and has since played more than 390 times for his current side across all competitions.
His next league appearance will be his 400th in the Bundesliga, 31 of which occurred last term when the central defender played a key role in helping Xabi Alonso’s side lift the top flight title.
The report claims that Liverpool view Tah as a player with the ‘ideal profile’ to replace current club captain Van Dijk, if the Dutchman were to depart Anfield this summer.
