Murphy Reveals He’s“Heard”That£40M Rated Chelsea Target Could Be Set For Liverpool Exit–Exclusive

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy claims that reported Chelsea target Caoimhin Kelleher will be “sold” by the Reds at the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international could be relegated to third choice at Anfield, with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to arrive from Valencia and speaking exclusively to Chelsea News (courtesy of Poker Firma), Murphy said that the keeper is likely to be on the move this summer:

“I’d be really surprised if Kelleher stays, my understanding is that he would be sold in the summer – I say my understanding – just things I’ve heard here and there.”

Kelleher is a highly rated keeper, and it is believed that Liverpool won’t let him leave on the cheap, with reports indicating his price tag could be between £35m and £40m.

Kelleher has several suitors in the Premier League

In addition to Chelsea, the likes of Newcastle, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are also said to be lining up bids for the 26-year-old.

Celtic have also been mentioned as a potential destination in the past, but there is no chance of the Scottish champions matching Kelleher’s reported valuation.

Chelsea have been linked with several goalkeepers

Fans are very keen for the Blues to bring in an upgrade for Robert Sanchez, with the Spaniard having made a number of high-profile errors this campaign.

Kelleher is not the only keeper who has been considered as a potential replacement. Reports in Italy earlier this month claimed that the club were looking at Roma’s Mile Svilar.

Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen, Parma’s Zion Suzuki and Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi are also believed to be under consideration. At the moment, it appears that sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart are prioritising other positions to strengthen but supporters would be very disappointed if Sanchez remains the number one heading into next season.
