West Ham United face a major issue this summer, with Arsenal closing in on a mega deal for a supremely talented attacker.
Graham Potter and Mikel Arteta are both said to planning major surgery on their West Ham and Arsenal squads respectively this summer.
Potter urgently needs to add more balance, dynamism, energy and youth to his group of players at the London Stadium.
Due to poor squad building from Julen Lopetegui, Tim Steidten and David Moyes before him, Graham Potter now faces a huge summer rebuild at West Ham.

That won’t be easy given the fact that funds are tight in East London right now.
West Ham’s lack of funds means that certain targets are completely out of our reach now.
Arsenal to cause West Ham problems by sealing Hugo Ekitike deal
According to a report from the Sun, Arsenal are eyeing up a stunning £60 million raid on Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike this summer.
The Hammers fans will be very familiar with that name.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
David Moyes tried to bring Hugo Ekitike to West Ham from Reims way back in January 2022.
The 22-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain in the end before moving on to Eintracht Frankfurt in January, where he has been a huge hit.
Ekitike has bagged 23 goals and 10 assists in 54 games for Frankfurt (Transfermarkt).

The Hammers were linked with a summer move to sign Hugo Ekitike at the start of March, but now our dreams of securing his signature are well and truly dead in the water.
The incredibly low fee West Ham could have paid for Hugo Ekitike
What makes Arsenal’s interest in signing Ekitike even more painful is that we could have picked him up for around £20-25 million a few years ago (Le10sport).
Now he’s completely out of our league.
Hugo Ekitike would have been absolutely perfect for West Ham, but now he seems destined to join Arsenal.
The 22-year-old stands at 6ft 3in tall and is incredibly strong in the air.
He possesses blistering pace, elite movement and is a prolific goalscorer.
Ekitike really is the one that got away for West Ham.
