Russell Wilson has officially joined the New York Giants and made his first appearance talking about the team on Wednesday. He is clearly excited about his new opportunity and took some time to open up about his new squad.
Prior to agreeing to terms with the Giants, Wilson had received interest from the Cleveland Browns as well. He physically met with the Browns before deciding on New York.
Before signing Wilson, the Giants also signed veteran quarterback Jameis Winston. They're still being linked to Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
During his first time speaking out about the team, Wilson took some time to talk about young wide receiver Malik Nabers.
It is very clear that Wilson likes what he sees from Nabers. He showered the young wideout with praise.
"He's an explosive athlete," Wilson said. "Just his abilities to make plays, I love Malik man. Just watching him and his personality on the field, his demeanor."
Wilson continued forward, talking about how few wide receivers can make the kind of plays that Nabers makes.
"Those kinds of things is what championship football looks like and obviously listen, he catches this screen against the Colts and takes 70 yards, 80 yards, that's pretty special," he said. "There's only so many human being in the world that can do that, and he's one of them."
