The Premier League have revealed dates for the summer transfer window

Premier League clubs have agreed on the 2025 summer transfer window dates after a meeting between shareholders' in central London on Thursday.

The window will open early, between Sunday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 10, due to an exceptional registration period relating to the FIFA Club World Cup. It will then shut for six days before reopening again on Monday, June 16 and close on Deadline Day - Monday, September 1.

A Premier League statement read: "Premier League clubs have today agreed the dates for the Summer 2025 Transfer Window.

"The window will open early, between Sunday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 10, due to an exceptional registration period relating to the FIFA Club World Cup.

It will then reopen on Monday, June 16, and close on Monday, September 1.

FIFA's revamped Club World Cup will start on Friday, June 15 and run for just over four weeks, with the final taking place on Sunday, June 13. The tournament, which will feature 32 teams and take place every four years, is being hosted by the United States this summer.

Manchester City and Chelsea are representing the Premier League in the Club World Cup. Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Red Bull Salzburg, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Porto are the other European teams involved.

The winners of the Club World Cup will earn a tasty £96.83million, giving City an extra incentive to give it a right good go and try to win the competition for the second time.

Across the tournament, the total prize pool is £406.58m. UEFA entrants will receive the most, and a variable fee based on ranking and revenue. City, Chelsea, Real and Bayern to get top end just for competing, with a figure between £9.92m and £29.58m mentioned for each European club.

City have been drawn in a group with Wydad AC, Al Ain FC and Juventus. City's competition will begin in Philadelphia on June 18 when they face Moroccan side Wydad AC. After that, City play Al Ain FC in Atlanta on June 22 before rounding out the group against Juventus on June 26.

With the transfer window opening for nine days before the Club World Cup gets underway, City can sign players to ensure they are registered for the competition. The same applies for every other club in the tournament, with Real Madrid eyeing up Trent Alexander-Arnold for the US competition.

As for Manchester United, the Club World Cup rule won't apply to them but Ruben Amorim will be eager to get signings rubber-stamped and do their business early. This is so the Portuguese can get a squad together for pre-season and ensure he gets his side ready for the new campaign.
