Jack and Tyler Fletcher - the twins of Manchester United legend Darren - captained England and Scotland youth teams last week
The sons of former Manchester United star Darren Fletcher both captained the teams of England and Scotland's youth teams over the international break. Twins Jack and Tyler Fletcher, 18, have both impressed for the Red Devils academy in recent months and now have taken the next step on the national stage.
Jack was captain of the England Under-18 side in their 2-2 draw against Czechia last week, while Tyler was skipper of Scotland's Under-19 team that played Poland.
The boys were both born in England in 2007, but had the choice of representing either the Three Lions or Scotland - where their father Darren hails from. Fletcher Snr, who played 342 times for Manchester United across 13 seasons, picked up 80 caps for Scotland and captained the side.
Tyler has followed in his footsteps and had the honour of wearing the captain's armband last week, while Jack did the same for England's youth team - though his father might still be giving him stick about his choice of national team.
In 2023, both players lined up against each other on opposite sides during an Under-16 clash between England and Scotland. United fans have reacted with pride to the news, with one writing on Twitter: "Love to see it. I want them both to succeed at United so bad."

Another added: "I'm so attached to these boys. Want to see them be great for the club. Loved their father too."
Their progress in the game is a real full-circle moment, five years after Fletcher Snr retired from football. The two brothers started out at the academy of United's bitter rivals Manchester City before the Red Devils bought both players for a combined fee of £1.25m in 2023.
They have since worked under their father Darren after he took up a coaching role with United's Under-16s in 2020, shortly after he hung up his boots, before being promoted to a first team coach.

Fletcher was later promoted to technical director in 2021 but was then replaced by Jason Wilcox - though the club revealed he would remain within the coaching set-up.
He has often been seen in the stands watching his sons in action for United's youth teams and he recently saw the duo excel in a 5-0 win over West Brom - where Jack scored twice. Tyler assisted both goals.
