One prospect who may interest the Denver Broncos on day three of the 2025 NFL Draft is Syracuse running back, LeQuint Allen. He is a 6’0”, 204-pound running back who is widely viewed as one of the better pass-catching backs in the entire draft.
Allen played a total of three seasons at Syracuse and was a very productive player for them the past two seasons. During his three seasons at Syracuse, Allen totaled 514 carries for 2,359 yards, and 26 rushing touchdowns while adding 119 receptions for 848 yards and an additional 6 receiving touchdowns. This past season, he had 228 carries for 1,021 yards, averaged 4.5 yards per carry, and had 16 rushing touchdowns while having 64 receptions for 521 yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns.

He’s a menace on options routes. Also thrived in a variety of different screens at Syracuse.

What other analysts are saying about Syracuse running back LeQuint Allen
NFL.com’s draft analyst Lance Zierlein on RB LeQuint Allen
Allen is a versatile back with adequate size and speed. He’s decisive and gets what he can on most carries but lacks burst, imagination, and contact force to create on his own. He’s a reliable pass-catching option with natural hands and an ability to run routes and find yards after the catch. His pass-protection willingness and execution stand out against others in this class. Allen’s ability to cover kicks and return punts adds to his value as a potential Day 3 pick who could compete for a role as a third-down option.
Final Thoughts
I love the fit and believe Allen could be a target hog for the Broncos in Sean Payton’s offense. I like his ability as a runner but his real value for me comes in the passing game. He’s a smooth and crafty route runner who is a reliable target who can line up all over the field. I don’t think he is an RB1 for a team, but I really like his fit as a third-down/pass-catching specialist who can pass block, and believe he could thrive in the Broncos offense.
He is one of my favorite day 3 backs for the Broncos and would love to see him paired with another early-round back like Omarion Hampton, Treveyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins, Kaleb Johnson, and so on.
The Broncos have a big need at running back and I believe Allen would be an excellent addition to their backfield. The fourth or fifth round seems like the sweet spot for him and would love to see the Broncos take him somewhere in that range.
