Everton fans are keen to make lots of additions this summer, as the club look to get their new era off to a bright start.
The Everton squad will be looking quite different for 2025/26, with several reaching the end of their contracts this summer.
Some won’t be returning after loan spells.
And there is, of course, the possibility that some will be sold for big money.
With Michael Keane likely to leave Everton, there will be need for a new centre-back, with Jake O’Brien – who’s been playing right-back recently – James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite the only options.
Everton are reportedly interested in Federico Gatti of Juventus – and there has now been an update on the situation.

According to journalist Mirko Di Natale, Everton have a concrete interest in Federico Gatti, who has been enjoying a good season over in Serie A with Juventus.
Juve themselves could be going better in the league, as they currently sit fifth.
But Gatti has impressed in their backline, becoming something of a new hero at the club in recent times following his move from Frosinone – and interest is starting to grow in the Italy international.

But there will seemingly be work to do for Everton, as Di Natale told Arena Napoli: “I don’t think so (if Juve could sell). There is strong interest not only from Napoli, but also from the Premier League. The defender has a lot of appeal: already in the summer.”

“There were enquiries from Everton and Newcastle, and Juve never opened up about the sale. The club does not intend to let him go. Why these rumours, then? Because Juventus has worked to reach a renewal that, to date, has not yet been signed.
He said: “What is the right price to tempt Juve and make them waver on the sale of Gatti? If a big offer were to arrive, really high, then Gatti would be transferable. Last year they needed €25m, but this year the figure would rise to €30-€35m. Even €40m, if you want.”
Gatti has been a better passer than Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite this season
A new centre-back should indeed be on the cards this summer for Everton, and Gatti feels like he could be a good fit for English football.
Juvefc.com reported recently that Gatti has become one of the key figures in the Juventus dressing room this season, and that he has been ‘one of the most reliable and consistent performers in the Juventus squad’.
He’s also shown leadership qualities, they say.
Furthermore, Gatti has actually been very good with the ball at his feet, which is usually not one of his better traits.
This term he has a pass accuracy of 95% (via fbref). For context, Jarrad Branthwaite – a player often lauded for his passing ability – has an accuracy of 82%.
