Alexander Isak has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United in the summer after a fantastic season.
After a slow start to the campaign, the Swede found his form and went on a goalscoring run no Newcastle United fan had ever seen before.
Alexander Isak scored in eight consecutive Premier League games during the winter months, beating the record jointly held by Alan Shearer and Joe Willock. The 25-year-old’s form means it is a given that there will be a plethora of clubs across Europe vying for his signature. Recent reports suggest that Liverpool want to sign Isak in the summer as a replacement for Mohamed Salah who looks set to leave after almost eight years on Merseyside.
Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan has told Newcastle not to sell Isak because he is his favourite player, asking Toon boss Eddie Howe to build a team around him as they look to dominate football by 2030.

The club are eager to tie Isak down to a new contract this summer after talks over a new deal fell through in 2024. The feeling is that Isak could stay at Newcastle after their historic Carabao Cup win at Wembley in March.
With his immediate future still up in the air, Newcastle fans have taken to social media to share how they really feel about Isak leaving in the summer.

Newcastle fans share how they feel about Alexander Isak leaving
Isak to Liverpool is the story of the summer. That’s according to David Ornstein who firmly believes there will be discussions between the Swede and the Premier League leaders once the transfer window opens.

Newcastle want over £120m for Isak, a fee that would break the existing British record transfer fee Chelsea set by buying Enzo Fernandez for £106m in 2023.
Recent reports have claimed that Liverpool will offer Newcastle four players for Isak, including Harvey Elliott.
Newcastle fans took to X to share their opinions on whether Isak will leave in the summer.
“Way I see it, (Isak leaving is) always going to be possible. But Newcastle have him tied down on a good contract, there’s desire to extend that deal. Plus the overhanging issue for almost everyone that if they throw the kitchen sink at getting him, they won’t be able to do much else due to PSR.” said one fan, while another added: “If Isak leaves it’ll be for a fee that will make PSR and FFP a topic we will never have to speak about again.”
This fan referred to his high asking price, saying: “You can’t have your head in the sand. He could leave. Interest is genuine, but currently we hold all the aces in any sale talks and I struggle to see Arsenal/Liverpool relenting to our demands.”
“The only places I can see him going to now are either Real or Barca, and neither of them would want/need him as it currently stands. The way things stand with PSR, no PL club could afford him. Not even City would have the nerve to front up £150m plus.” said another confident Newcastle fan.
The last three windows has now shown that it is every bit as important to keep players than it is to buy new.
We have massively progressed. With players like Isak and Tonali in the squad, maintaining that is as good as buying new, if not better #NUFC

Another Newcastle fan added: “I’m not sure anyone can afford it this summer, but we have to get him to sign a new contract. If we don’t qualify for the CL next season (and he has another great season) I don’t think we’ll hold onto him and he could easily run his contract down.”
Finally, this fan said: “He will go eventually anyway, just happy we bagged a trophy while he was here. Would’ve felt like a missed opportunity otherwise. Just hope he goes abroad when he does go.”
Alexander Isak knows what he must do for Newcastle
Isak is world-class at Newcastle, according to club legend Shearer, who holds the Swede in the highest regard because of his goals.
As significant as Newcastle’s Carabao Cup win was, it is only the beginning of what the fans and club staff believe they can achieve in the future.
Newcastle have already qualified for Europe, thanks to the trophy win, but there is still so much to play for in the Premier League this season.
The Magpies are currently sixth in the Premier League table with a game in hand over Chelsea and Manchester City above them. Winning their game in hand could see them move up to third in the table if other results go their way.
Fans will already be thinking about the end of the season, but one game in particular could be huge in the race for Champions League football. Newcastle play Chelsea on May 10th, one of the final games of the season. Isak could be a big difference maker in the game if he keeps his good run of form up until the end of the campaign.
The belief is that fifth place will be good enough for a Champions League spot, thanks to the impressive performances put in by the English clubs in Europe this season.
