Tis the season for NFL mock drafts!
Most recently, ESPN's Matt Miller is projecting that the Los Angeles Rams will invest in their future at football's most important position.
In his most recent mock draft, Miller believes that the Rams will use their 26th overall pick in the first round on Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
"After waiting to see whether Matthew Stafford would return for another season, the Rams must now prepare for their future at quarterback post-Stafford. Dart is an accurate thrower on intermediate routes with underrated ability to layer the deep ball down the field," Miller says.
Miller also believes that Dart's experience over the years at the college game will pay dividends. "He's also experienced, starting the past three seasons at Ole Miss and USC."
Throughout his college career, Dart accounted for 72 touchdowns through the air and nearly 12,000 passing yards.
Overall, many draft experts have come to the joint agreement that the 2025 class is rather weak when it comes to quarterback prospects. That certainly wasn't the case a year ago, as a whopping six quarterbacks were taken in the first 12 picks of the first round.
Nonetheless, there will surely be quarterback hungry teams that will jump at guys like Dart who are considered to possess fringe first round talent.
At 37 years of age, Stafford is in the twilight of his career as he prepares to play his 17th season in the National Football League. It would be wise for the Rams to start thinking about the future once their Hall of Fame field general decides to hang up the cleats.
