'Wow': What Tim Howard first noticed about Bramley-Moore Dock will have Everton fans excited

Everton fans will now be counting down the days until their historic move to their new stadium in the summer.

Bramley-Moore Dock represents a new era for the Toffees under the new ownership of The Friedkin Group.

Everton have now held two test events at Bramley-Moore, as the club nearer a full sign off from the authorities to open the new stadium.

The club will be hoping the expectations set for their new home play out as they expect, with the club looking to grow significantly.

Some lucky Everton fans have now had the opportunity to experience the club’s new home first hand.

But for those who haven’t, Tim Howard’s first impression of Bramley-Moore will have fans chomping at the bit to walk through the turnstiles.

Tim Howard stunned by what he noticed about Everton’s new stadium

Everton are working on a lucrative stadium naming rights deal, which would drastically boost the club’s PSR position.

During his visit to Bramley-Moore Dock, Howard admitted he was stunned by the sheer scale of the club’s new home.

“Wow, look at this place! Incredible. Stunning. Wow, this is incredible just look at this place,” said Howard.

“I think I’m overwhelmed by the enormity of the sheer size of the stadium. It’s so big it almost just stands on top of you which is incredible.

“It looks really, really majestic. What Goodison Park has done for the opponents is giving them the fear because it’s so close, so tight and intimate, this gives that sort of feel.”

The club have already welcomed a number of former players into the new stadium to get their first taste of the future.

Wayne Rooney even suggested he wanted to manage Everton during his visit to Bramley-Moore earlier in the season.

Liverpool Mayor addresses transport improvements for Bramley-Moore Dock

Everton fans were left frustrated by the new stadium’s transport links following the second test event on the weekend.

With 25,000 fans in attendance, it was a much bigger operation for the club to handle after the first even only held 10,000 fans.

And it seems as if there were a number of teething problems after the game in getting fans away from the stadium efficiently.

Speaking to BBC Merseyside, Liverpool Mayor Steve Rotheram discussed the changes the authorities are looking to put in place.

“We will double capacity for the next test event and we’ll see how that goes,” he said.

“The average waiting time to get away was 20 minutes, if you could guarantee that at most away grounds, 20 minutes is absolutely nothing.

“For 52,000 it might be half an hour, 40 minutes, but that’s what we need to find out with the next test event.”
