The Los Angeles Lakers snapped their three-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a LeBron James tip-in at the buzzer to defeat the Indiana Pacers.
Their four-game road trip is set to continue on Thursday in Chicago when they take on the Bulls. Meanwhile, the team made a roster move earlier in the day as the NBA playoffs near.
According to ESPN senior NBA insider Shams Charania, "The Los Angeles Lakers are converting two-way Jordan Goodwin to a standard NBA contract, making him playoff eligible, sources tell ESPN."
To make room for him, the Lakers will waive guard Cam Reddish, as Charania also reported.
Goodwin, a 6-foot-4 guard, spent most of the season with the South Bay Lakers, the team's G League affiliate, before signing a two-way contract with the NBA squad on Feb 7.
Since then, Goodwin has stepped up as a valuable depth piece, playing in 19 games and starting in five for Los Angeles. The 26-year-old is averaging 6.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
In his fifth professional season, Goodwin has had previous stints with the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, and Memphis Grizzlies before making his way to Los Angeles.
