The future of Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to be one of the major talking points this summer following reports that he has refused to sign a new contract.

Described as ‘quick‘ by former manager Erik ten Hag, the 19-year-old currently earns £25,000 weekly.
He is reportedly pushing for a significant salary increase to reflect his growing status in the squad.
Mainoo’s representatives are said to demand a weekly wage of £180,000—seven times his current salary. However, United may view these demands as excessive.
The club are cautious about handing out lucrative contracts following past experiences with Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford.
Under INEOS’ administration, the Red Devils want to reduce their wage bill to align with their financial and league position.
If a compromise is not reached, Mainoo could follow Rashford as the high-profile academy graduates to leave this summer—an outcome that may not sit well with fans.
