Everton are already reaping the long-term rewards of new ownership under the Friedkin Group.

Farhad Moshiri left Merseyside with the Toffees riddled with debt, but that has since cleared under the Americans, who have also helped future loan repayments too.

It was recently revealed that the Friedkins have secured a new funding package worth £350million on the Bramley Moore Dock Stadium, which could save up to £50m-a-year.

Dan Friedkin is the Everton owner.

Everton to reinvest in new transfers

Dan Plumley was left impressed after the recent reveal, admitting it is a significant saving for the Friedkins and Everton to use.

The football finance expert admitted that these savings will quickly add up, and could be reinvested into future infrastructure projects, transfers or further cuts to save.

“It’s a significant number,” Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.

“If you can save that, especially the operating costs of a Premier League club that we’ve seen, particularly with the playing side of things and the wage bill, and what you have to contend with.

“If you can save £50m, then it’s absolutely brilliant.

“Alongside everything else that has happened at the club recently, with the takeover and the new stadium being ready to go with the test events, and then the additional costs on top of saving bits with the refinancing costs, that all adds up.

“That money, you would hope, could then be used elsewhere, that’s the way to look at it, whether or not that’s to look at cutting more costs, infrastructure projects or into the playing budget and signing new players, it’s a significant figure.”

David Moyes ready to spend

After years of limited spending at West Ham and restrictions still being in place at Goodison Park this season, this summer will start a new era for Moyes.

The Toffees will be looking to spend, and that could increase even further if Jarrad Branthwaite is sold as he considers his future on Merseyside.
