The Premier League clubs have just voted to have TWO deadline days this summer- with double the drama and potential for cock ups over paperwork always lurking. Who can forget the Hammers’ ham – fisted sales of Pablo Fornals and Saïd Benrahma on deadline day with the missing paperwork nearly scuppering both deals.
Because of FIFA’s world club championship , the participating teams wanted a chance before the start of the competition to refresh their squads: Every other Premier League club then piled in and complained that it would be unfair just for the chosen few to have access to a window and not for every club. So, the Premier League have just agreed two windows, because FIFA’s rules prevent the window staying open for more than 12 weeks.
So, the first transfer window of the summer will open on Sunday June 1st and close June 10th.
The second will open Monday 16th June and remain open until 1st September.
