Despite winning 11 games in 2024, many felt that the Ole Miss football team had a disappointing season because they did not make the College Football Playoff. Head coach Lane Kiffin had his most talented Rebels team yet, but still felt short, even though the playoffs expanded.
Among those talented players were quarterback Jaxson Dart and cornerback Trey Amos, both of whom were First-Team All-SEC selections last season. On Thursday, ESPN's Matt Miller released a seven-round mock draft, and both Dart and Amos were selected in the first round. Dart went to the Los Angeles Rams with pick No. 26, and Amos landed with the Buffalo Bills at pick No. 30.
Dart lit it up last season for the Rebels, throwing for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns while also rushing for just under 500 yards and adding three touchdowns on the ground. While he wouldn't be the immediate starter in Los Angeles with Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo on the roster, he'd have a stellar set of veterans and a great coach to learn under.
Amos was a shut-down corner last year for Ole Miss, as many quarterbacks were scared to even look his way. He had three interceptions last season and 13 passes defended, and he is a willing tackler as well, totaling 50 tackles, including four for a loss. While the Bills' secondary is solid, he could easily work his way into the rotation in year one and help Josh Allen and company compete for a Super Bowl.
