The New York Jets have signed a player who returned to action last season not long after he was injured in a shooting.
Veteran wide receiver Josh Reynolds has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Jets that is worth up to $5 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Thursday.
The Jets will be Reynolds’ sixth different team in nine NFL seasons. He was last with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who claimed the former Texas A&M star after he was waived by the Denver Broncos in December.

Reynolds is just five months removed from being wounded in a shooting outside a Denver-area strip club. Reynolds and his friends had left the club in a vehicle on Oct. 18 and were pursued by two other drivers. The 30-year-old Reynolds was shot twice but fortunate to avoid any major injuries. In addition to the Jaguars and Broncos, Reynolds has played for the Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Rams. He had 40 catches for 608 yards and 5 touchdowns in 15 games with the Lions in 2023.
Reynolds finished last season with just 13 total receptions in 9 games split between Denver and Jacksonville.
