Report: Former Chelsea player is being discussed as next potential Brazil manager, he's up against Carlo Ancelotti

This season, a lot has been said about ex-Chelsea stars Frank Lampard and Cesc Fabregas.

Lampard and Fabregas are now both managers, doing well at their respective clubs. Lampard has Coventry in contention to win promotion to the Premier League, while Fabregas should help Como to stay in Serie A.

Como are currently 13th in the Serie A table and beat Antonio Conte’s Napoli not too long ago.

Fabregas came up with a masterplan that day, with Como limiting Romelu Lukaku to just eight touches of the ball.

Lampard and Fabregas are not the only former Chelsea players who are currently doing well in the dugout, though.

Filipe Luis in contention for Brazil job

Filipe Luis played alongside Fabregas at Chelsea during the 2014/15 season and is now a manager just like his former teammate.

His spell at Flamengo is going so well that the retired defender is now being linked with the Brazil job.

According to ESPN, alongside Carlo Ancelotti and Jorge Jesus, Luis is one of the leading candidates to replace Dorival Junior.

Dorival’s time as Brazil manager could be coming to an end following his nation’s 4-1 defeat to arch-rivals Argentina.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez starred for Argentina that game, scoring a goal and grabbing an assist.

Luis succeeding Dorival would see the 39-year-old get the opportunity to coach a couple of Chelsea players, with Estevao Willian and Andrey Santos being two Brazil internationals that he would be able to call upon.

Filipe Luis has already won silverware as a manager

Luis has not been Flamengo’s first-team manager for long, but the Brazilian has already managed to make a huge impact at the club.

Despite only taking over six months ago, Luis has won three trophies at Flamengo, including the Copa do Brasil, which is Brazil’s equivalent of the FA Cup.

As both a manager and footballer, then, Luis has been able to taste success, with the ex-left-back winning titles with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid during his playing days.
