Eddie Howe and his players will be saluted in the Toon by thousands of fans on Saturday during an open-top bus tour through the city to St James’s Park.Article continues belowHowever, Dobey, who is back home on Tyneside tonight for the Premier League Darts matches, won’t be partying with the punters as he has an exhibition date in the Scottish Highlands. He explained: “I won’t be at the parade, I’m working this weekend in Inverness. I’ve seen them win the cup live, I’m happy with that.“I’m devastated, but needs must. The show goes on. But it’s not going to be the last time, I’ll see it again next time. The celebrations are ongoing, as it will be for weeks, months and years."These things don’t happen often. It’s just such a buzz. Hopefully we can do it all over again.(Image: Getty Images)“I’ve got two kids, but that was still one of the best feelings in the world! We’ve been in finals, but not been getting there. To do it against the best team around, it always tops it off."I do remember everything from Wembley. I had to do a bit at BOXPARK with the ex-pros on stage, get the atmosphere. It was a great feeling before the game. Then to the match sitting in with the fans. It was such a buzz all around. What a win. I came straight back home on the night. I made sure I came back, I couldn’t be away that long!”Dobey is mates with many of the United squad with Wembley hero Dan Burn amongst those due at the Utilita Arena this evening to see the darts star in action."He smiled: “I won’t be doing his [Burn] dance, that’s for sure. Even though they are friends, it’s still a pinch me moment. It was nice to get the call [from Sean Longstaff] before I went to the venue in Cardiff last week. They all showed support when I played Stephen Bunting. They knew how much of a big game it was."They said we beat Liverpool, why can’t we beat them again. Little things like that go a long way. I appreciate everything.”Dobey is determined to climb his way up the Premier League standings and match the achievement of winning the silverware just like United. He said: “I’m going to be going all out for it. It’s always going to be tough. You are playing against the elite, week-in, week-out. Only the elite players compete in the Premier League and there are very few players that get to participate in it.Article continues below“I still feel I can do it and get myself into the top four. It’s just about taking these wins. The ability is there and the confidence is there now too. I believe I can win."I’m starting to win on a regular basis and my last Premier League campaign will help me. My game has changed in a good way. It’s just about bringing that performance out on the big stage.”
