Everton are set to usher in a new era next season and Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti looks like the perfect option to embrace Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) completed their takeover from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024, and expectations at the Toffees are high.

David Moyes has been impressive in the Premier League since his return to the Blues, and the Scotsman has arguably done enough to be backed with quality reinforcements next summer.

TFG must spend heavily at Goodison Park in the coming months, and their contacts in Italy may come in handy.

Moyes needs defensive transfers at Everton

Real Madrid have their eyes on Jarrad Branthwaite ahead of the upcoming transfer window, which isn’t surprising considering the centre-back’s performances of late.

Michael Keane could also leave Goodison Park at the end of the season once his current contract expires.

James Tarkowski has partnered Branthwaite in the Merseyside outfit’s backline this season, but they could evidently do with an upgrade.

Jake O’Brien seems to have made the right-back spot his own after deputising in the absence of Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson, and it remains to be seen whether Moyes will switch his position next season.

Gatti transfer push could be on cards after Juventus contract update

Gatti is attracting interest from the Premier League, with the Toffees and Newcastle United eyeing his signature.

The 26-year-old defender’s current contract expires in 2028, but Juventus have handed him fresh terms.

While the Bianconeri want to tie the Italy international down to a new deal, he’s yet to commit his future at the Serie A outfit in what may be a come-get-me plea for interested parties.

As a result, there’s speculation about Gatti’s future at Juventus, although they have no intention of selling him.

Gatti’s record at Juventus in all competitions this season.

Speaking to AreaNapoli (26 March), TuttoJuve journalist Mirko Di Natale said: “The defender has a lot of appeal. Already in the summer, there were inquiries from Everton and Newcastle and Juventus never opened up about the sale. The club does not intend to let him go.

“Why these rumours, then? Because Juventus has worked to reach a renewal that, to date, has not yet been signed.”

Moyes has all but ensured Premier League survival at Everton after realistic fears of relegation under Sean Dyche.

The Toffees are on an eight-game unbeaten run in the English top flight, which can be extended in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool at Anfield on 2 April.

Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are up next for the Blues after Arne Slot’s team in what will be a challenging period for them.

While the Toffees have taken impressive strides under Moyes, fans will expect them to make progress next season, and players like Gatti could evidently lend a hand.
