Latest Arsenal injury news as Saka sends two-word update – but three miss Fulham

Arsenal have been given a huge boost ahead of their clash against Fulham. The Gunners will host the Cottagers at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening as they both look to climb the Premier League.

Before the international break, Arsenal enjoyed a 1-0 win over Chelsea, meanwhile, Fulham stormed past Tottenham Hotspur. While Liverpool have established a 12-point lead over the North Londoners with nine games to go, Arne Slot's side have shown signs of weakness.

The Reds have lost each of their last two games across all competitions, crashing out of the Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain and losing to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final. Liverpool may have a nice cushion at the top of the table, but Mikel Arteta won't go down without a fight.

With Bukayo Saka set to make his return next month, the Spaniard may fancy his chances. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Arsenal injury news.

Bukayo Saka

Saka suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal's 5-1 win over Crystal Palace back in December. The 23-year-old winger underwent surgery a few days later, and he's been absent ever since.

What Arteta has said: "He's going to be out for many weeks. It is what it is. He's injured, we cannot change it. We're going to use this time now to help him."

Injury: Hamstring.

Predicted return date: Fulham (H) – Premier League – Tuesday, April 1.

Gabriel Jesus

Jesus sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Arsenal's clash against Manchester United back in January. The striker has since undergone surgery and started a rehabilitation programme.

What Arteta has said: "Not looking good at all. But we need to review with the specialist and will have more information this afternoon. I don't want to confirm anything until we have the final report this afternoon. We were very worried straight after the game and we are very worried today."

Injury: Calf.

Predicted return date: October.

Kai Havertz

Havertz suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal's warm-weather training camp in Dubai last month. The forward also underwent surgery on the issue before beginning a rehabilitation programme, which is expected to run into pre-season.

What Arteta has said: "We were having a great camp in Dubai, recharging, training, connecting with nature and a different environment. Then the injury happened in an unexpected way, it's a big blow because of injuries we have.

"Fortunately, we have been through a lot this season, it's the challenge I have. We love it. Let's see what the team is made of. Any team in this league loses four players in the frontline like that and I know what the answer will be."

Injury: Hamstring.

Predicted return date: Summer.

Riccardo Calafiori

Calafiori suffered a knee injury during Italy's clash against Germany on Thursday night. The defender needed on-field treatment after awkwardly slipping in the final minutes of stoppage time. He has since returned to London Colney for further assessment.

What Luciano Spalletti said: "He said that his knee feels strange. But I cannot answer more precisely than that, so we’ll have to see."

Injury: Knee.

Predicted return date: Fulham (H) – Premier League – Tuesday, April 1.

Jurrien Timber

Timber has fallen ill during the international break. The defender was omitted from the Netherlands squad that faced Spain on Thursday night before being sent home early.

What Ronald Koeman said: "It's a tough choice. [Ian] Maatsen joined at the last minute, but he's a real left back."

Injury: Illness.

Predicted return date: Fulham (H) – Premier League – Tuesday, April 1.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu remains out of action with a knee injury. The defender missed the large majority of last season with a calf problem and he's played just six minutes this term.

What Arteta has said: "Tomiyasu is going to be out as well for a period."

Injury: Knee.

Return date: Unknown.
