1st June looms with £84 million bid incoming | Report

Every window, various top quality players are rumoured to be the ‘targets’ for the Saudi Pro-league sides who can spend cash in the way that [Premier](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-in-battle-with-premier-league-giants-for-greek-starlet-karetsas/) League chairmen can only dream of: Players’ decide their financial futures are more important than their football careers and go and grab insane pay deals for few years in the footballing Siberia that is the Pro League.

Jhon Duran took a huge pay deal to leave Aston Villa, leaving the club £70-plus million better off and the player himself earning £17 million a year.

With these kind of numbers, any player will have his head turned: The next in line, according to [givemesport.com](https://www.givemesport.com/west-ham-united-transfer-news-set-receive-bid-mohammed-kudus-london-stadium/?taid=67e58f15b3e1fe000153273a) will be West Ham’s very own Mohammed Kudus:

_“West Ham are set to receive a bid in the region of £84million after Kudus has become a key target for Al-Nassr…. and it has been acknowledged that it will be difficult for the east Londoners to turn down such a lucrative offer”_

Given the state of West Ham’s PSR standings and the fact that Kudus has the summer release clause at £85 million, if the promised offer suggested by _givemesport_ materialises, then there’s no decision to make. West Ham can fund another couple of decent players with that cash and stay the right side of financial rules. Especially seeing that Kudus has failed to live up to the staggering standards of last season, it won’t seem quite such a wrench to see him leave.

For the player though, it seems a shame to head off to the relative obscurity of the Saudi League. Like Duran, he’s an entertainer, and millions would be denied seeing Kudus if he did head to the Middle East. Fine for a Zouma at the end of their career to earn one last payday – but for the incredible talent that is Mohammed Kudus, it’d be a shame.

A new start is probably just what he needs after a torrid year at West Ham – but Al Nassr?  They don’t deserve him.
