The Arizona Cardinals have already made a couple of big moves to upgrade their defense this offseason.
They signed Josh Sweat to a $76 million contract to upgrade their pass rush. Then they added Dalvin Tomlinson at $14.5 million per year to take over a starting spot at defensive tackle.
They still might not be done making big moves on defense.
In the latest mock draft for Athlon Sports, Luke Easterling predicted the Cardinals would us their first-round pick to select Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell.
Campbell had a great final season for the Crimson Tide. He made 117 tackles with 12 for a loss. He was also responsible for five sacks and forced a pair of fumbles.
His performance earned him First Team All-SEC honors.
Campbell's fit with the Cardinals is clear.
The team needed help at linebacker after Kyzir White became a free agent. They've brought in Akeem Davis-Gaither, but he has never played 50% of his team's snaps in a season.
That could lead them to look for a premium option at the position in the draft and it doesn't get better than Campbell in this class.
He would be an option that could improve both the team's pass rush and run defense, which were two areas where they struggled in 2024.
With many of the other team's needs already filled, he would be a great fit for the Cardinals in the first round..
This mock draft also had them selecting Iowa State wide receiver Jayden Higgins in the second round, Kansas cornerback Mello Dotson in the third, and Indiana defensive tackle C.J. West in the fourth.
