Abdul Carter Makes Big Decision Before 2025 NFL Draft

Penn State Nittany Lions EDGE Abdul Carter is one of the most sought-after players entering the 2025 NFL Draft, with Pro Football Focus ranking him as the No. 2 player available to select.

However, teams missed the chance to view him compete in drills at the NFL Scouting Combine when he had to sit out due to a shoulder injury he sustained during the team's College Football Playoff win over Boise State.

There was hope, though, that he would be in much better health by the time Penn State held its pro day on Friday, but Adam Schefter reported that Carter would once again not be participating in any drills.

Edge rusher and top prospect Abdul Carter will not work out at Penn State's Pro Day on Friday, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Luckily for Carter, his amazing numbers from 2024 speak for themselves, accumulating 68 tackles, 24 tackles for loss (led FBS), 12 sacks, four pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

The way teams view the Penn State product after this pro day development may not even change because after missing out at the combine, his stock stayed nearly identical.

In Matt Miller's latest mock draft for ESPN, he still has Carter going to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 2 pick.

It's not as though interested teams have no idea what they're getting into by potentially selecting Carter either, as he still participated in interviews and physical exams at the combine.
